Road to Nowhere

(Zach Harmon)

You're Gone

(Zach Harmon)

My Dad wanted me to write more of a country styled song, so I started working on this. I recorded this track in my small studio about four years ago. This was my Dad's favorite recording that I did.

I lay awake though the night with no one to hold

Just a hard photo of you and this cold pillow

And when I finally sleep, I dream of how things used to be

But, that was so long ago

(Chorus)

You're gone, I'm still here

I lost you baby, now who's to save me

You're gone, I"m still here

And I want to tell you how much I miss you

But, you're gone

I try to tell myself to move on and find something new

But then again how can I, find something in this life like you

And it's so hard, to lose the ones you love so fast

And it's so easy, to live the rest of your life living in the past

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

You left this life way to soon

But, when I reach the other side

I'll be back with you

(Chorus)

When I'm gone, I'll be there

I'll find you baby, your love will save me

When I'm gone, I'll be there

I'm going to tell you how much I've missed you

When I'm gone, I'll be there

I"ll find you baby, your love will save me

When I'm gone, I'll be there

And, I'm going to tell you how much I love you

Maybe One Day

(Zach Harmon)

Well, I had met a girl that I really enjoyed the company of. She wasn't half bad to look at either. Anyway, everyone has a moment of infatuation with another person at some point in their life and this one was one of mine. She ended up moving away. After I knew she was leaving, I came up with the idea of this song.

"Maybe One Day"

She's got a smile on her face

You know the kind, you never get tired

She's got a lover's embrace

And you hope she'll never let go

And I...

I want to take her

And hold her in my arms

But I'll just wait

For maybe one day

She's got a warmth to her touch

That feels my heart with desire

But for a life based on love

It don't mean nothing if there's no love in my life

And I...

Can't stop this feeling

No matter how hard I try

But I'll just wait

For maybe one day

And I don't want a life

If that means being without her

Cause I could be the one

Who's only living for her

And I don't want a life

If that means being without her

Cause I could be the one

Who's only living for her

She's got a smile on her face

You know the kind, you never get tired of...

And I...

I know I love her and I'll do whatever it takes

But I'll just wait

For maybe one day

I know I lover her and I'll do whatever it takes

But I'll just wait

For maybe one day

Those Stars Still Shine

(Zach Harmon)

This was so cool to me. I like having multiple writers on an album. That way it doesn't seem like one guy wrote the whole album. There is a different flavor to it. Well, the studio engineer introduced me to Greg Young and told him that I wanted a song that had to do with changes. He called me the next day at 10am with a song. He wrote this song over night. I thought that was so cool.

"Those Stars Still Shine"

(verse 1)

Driving down this road

By the drive-in picture show

Where my parents used to go in the summer time

On a saturday night

Josie Wales beneath the stars

Smokey and the Bandit and a candy bar

They loved, they lived, what a sweet, sweet life

(chorus)

Changes come scene by scene

Those stars still shine over Abilene

Those stars still shine over Abilene

(verse 2)

Now I can't say I know

What lies on down this road

Or where I'm gonna go

It's a mystery, who knows these things

I'm living for today

I'm caught up in the moment and going to stay

Right here with you no matter what life brings

(chorus)

(bridge)

Baby I know a change is coming

It's just around the bend

But, I hope you will stay with me

And see just how the movie ends

(chorus)

Two Broken Hearts

(Zach Harmon)

Jason is a fantastic young writer who has a bunch of great ideas. In addition to his mother's great songwriting talent, they are an incredible writing duo. I was very fortunate enough to be able to have this song on my album. I fell in love with it instantly.

"Two Broken Hearts"

(verse 1)

Doing all that I can do

To keep from breaking down

Looking in the rearview

At the lights of my home town

Never thought it'd be this hard

To leave it all behind

In another mile

I'll be across that county line

(chorus)

I saw you three times this morning

Twice on my way home

This time is the last time

I'm leaving you alone

I think I'll make it easy

We're better off apart

Cause this town just ain't big enough

For two broken hearts

(verse 2)

I thought I'd take the back road

So we wouldn't meet

Then I saw you pass me

On that dead end street

Tried to turn the other way

But you were there just the same

I can't get over you

When you're in the other lane

(chorus)

(bridge)

I know I'm going to miss our little town

All our hopes and dreams

And the love we thought we found

I never thought that I'd

Be the one out on this road

There's no way around it

Someone's gotta go

(chorus)
